Cherkassy´s hornet gun stitched darts across Tallon´s eyes. After that, it was almost needless to send Sam Tallon to the Pavilion, planet Emm Luther´s political prison camp. An eyeless man was no threat, and brain-wipes had obliterated the secret he held - Tallon was more surely imprisoned by his own eternal night than by the killer swamp surrounding the Pavilion.

His captors overlooked two things. For one, Tallon´s secret was buried out of reach of their probes in the deepest layers of his brain ... and there was a way he could see again.
