Echoes of Eternity is a fantasy novel set in Paris in 1930, in which five individuals gather in Notre Dame cathedral on Quasimodo Sunday in the expectation of hearing a temporal echo of the particular peal that used to be rung on that day prior to the destruction of the cathedral's bells during the Revolution. Legend has it that the devil's laughter was sometimes interjected into the peal, and that such introduction were always followed by catastrophes.
